IFCA Report to ISAF Windsurfing Committee - November 2008.
Membership - includes 22 countries representing 4 continents.
The Slalom Worlds will be held in Big Bay, Capetown, South Africa, from 4th to 10th January.
The second Junior (Pro Kids) and Youth & Masters World Championship was organized in Torbole, Garda, (ITA) from 7th to 13th July. Over 150 competitors from 20 countries and 3 continents participated. The Master title was won by Thomas Fauster (ITA) and the Youth title by Enes Ilmazer (TUR). The cooperation with the Starboard Pro Kids Slalom was once again a fantastic experience.
In 2006 IFCA introduced the Slalom World Ranking which includes all major slalom events. In 2008 the ranking includes over 350 men and 43 women. Still leading the ranking are Antoine Albeau (FRA 192) and Valerie Ghibaudo (FRA 444).
The first Pro Kids and Junior & Youth World Championship was organized in Bonaire from 27th July to 3rd August. It was a great success; the Youth title was won by Kiri Thode (AHO) and the Junior title by Chris Kalk (EST).
European Championship. EFPT (European Freestyle Pro Tour) renewed the cooperation with IFCA with the tour sanctioned to award the European title to the series winner. The European title was won by Antxon Otaegui (ESP). Over 70 sailors from 22 countries competed on the tour consisting of 5 events.
