Kevin Mevissen NED, Normen Gunzlein GER, Andre Paskowski GER and Andreas Olandersson SWE as well as Karin Jaggi SUI and Laure Treboux SUI positioned themselves today as big candidates for the total victory - Who will win the title of Freestyle World Champion?

Today already early in the morning the wind conditions in Silvaplana were highly promising. The Engadine was showing all its astonishing beauty. Owing to the increasing maloja wind the starting signal for the IFCA Freestyle World Championship and the European Freestyle Pro Tour (EFPT) could be given punctually at 11.30 a.m. The 50 Freestyle pros, above them also 8 women and 8 masters, started in heats of four athletes. The raced points count for both contests, the World Championship and the EFPT. Big favourites surely were Kevin Mevissen NED, European Champion 2003 and current leader of the EFPT, Matheo Guazzoni ITA, European Champion 2004 or Andre Paskowski GER. Already after the first heats Normen Gunzlein GER and Andreas Olandersson were serious candidates for the victory. Right on the waterfront of the lake Silvaplana they impressed the jury and the spectators with most difficult moves like Loops and Flakas. After two exciting runs with wind speeds of up to 25 knots, Normen Gunzlein GER won the first contest day against Kevin Mevissen NED and Andreas Olandersson SWE. Those three top freestylers are one their best way to the title of the Freestyle World Champion.

In the women's category the two women Karin Jaggi SUI and Laure Treboux SUI positioned themselves from the beginning on very well. Will Karin Jaggi SUI reach her goal and win her 15th World Champion title, and within this her first World Champion title in her own country? After the heats of the women the masters prepared themselves for their contest. In this category started very special cracks like Alex Humpel AUT, Marc van Soolingen, head judge of the Stimorol Engadinwind.com and Roger Paul SUI.
