A reminder to competitors that the closing date for pre-entries is only 2 weeks away - 3rd July!
Just to clarify for PWA sailors competing at both Fuerte and Alacati, PWA slalom in Fuerte finishes on the 26th July, speed finishes on the 29th. Just freestyle continues to 31st so it is only Freestyle sailors that have to "move fast" to get from one event to the next. |

Egypt ISA Speedsurfing Grand Prix postponed Posted On: 02/04/2006 6:07:45 PM
Dear speed sailors!
Preparations are running well, but at the moment we will not be able to finish everything in time until June. Thus we decided to postpone the event in Egypt to September, which also promises excellent conditions. Mid of May will see a final meeting between the organizers and the Egypt government, which fully supports the event. Final details will be available directly after this meeting.

The Notice of Race for the 2006 Slalom World Championships is now published.
The event will be hosted by the Sportworks Group, with the support of theTurkish Sailing Federation, in Alacati, near Cesme, Izmir from 31st July to 5th August.
As IFCA enters its third year of focusing on the discipline of 'slalom' for its racing titles, Alacati has been selected as the ideal 'showpiece' venue.
Those competitors who attended the 2005 Europeans in Alacati can testify to the qualities of the location!
Entry is limited - see Championship Rule #2 - competitors are advised to register their interest by completing an online Pre Entry as soon as possible; the IWA Office will send confirmation of acceptence of entry to competitors, and a reminder of how to pay. |

I just had a phone call from Rene Egli, the organizer of the event and the owner of the Pro Center at Playa Sotavento, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands.
He warned me that flights and hotels for Fuerte are filling up very fast and if you want to be part of the Slalom Worlds (as Amateur or as Pro) you should not hesitate and contact your travel agent TODAY. IFCA have confirmed a bid fom Fuerteventura to host the 2005 Slalom World Championships as part of the 2005 Fuerteventura Windsurfing and Kiteboarding World Cup.
IFCA President ,Bruno de Wannemaeker: "We are proud to be associated with such a world renowned and respected event organisation; sailors can look forward to a memorable first - a dedicated slalom World Championship."

IFCA Worlds, Hyeres Posted On: 20/10/2003 10:11:10 AM Today the weather was soft and the wind was light with average speeds around 12 knots...ideal conditions for course racing! Four races were held today and excitement is the keyword to describe the battle for the IFCA World Championships with an extreme range of conditions - Arnon is leading before Antoine, Kevin and Wojtek...tomorrow we are expecting another hardcore day with South western winds up to 50 knots. IFCA Worlds, Hyeres Posted On: 20/10/2003 10:08:41 AM Day One - Wind 40 knots sometimes up to 55! Temperature 11 C and rain. In gusty but windy offshore conditions up to 35 knots it was Kevin Pritchard (US-3) who managed to win both slalom races held yesterday afternoon in a close battle with Frenchmen Antoine Albeau's (F-192).
