This should be the best event yet. The event stepped up and hired Darren Rogers to be the principal race officer. Darren's race officiating resume is long and solid and is the go to guy for the best run windsurfing event possible. Darren's credo is "fair & fun racing". He is one of the few officials that I know who can get that done.

PWA pro racers Kurosh Kiani and Sean O'Brien will be in attendance and are already in town so you will get to see how you do against some of the world's best slalom racers. Sean has written many instructional articles and posted them on his Carbon Sugar website. Chances are pretty good they'll school you on the water as well. If you were a golfer and could play a round with Tiger Woods, what would that be worth? They're nice guys happy to answer questions if you ask on the beach. Priceless!

Also coverage of the event has been stepped up with video sources feeding on the water action almost live back to the WindsurfingTourTV video stream. You can get a preview now.

Virginia Key is an awesome sheltered open ocean spot right on the Atlantic with clear beautiful water. It's a pleasure to sail there and enjoy smooth clear warm water with a wind window of almost 270o. Enough events have been successfully run here that the lifeguards and city are onboard and happy to see us come back which is all good! The event track record has been great with some great racing regardless whether there was a good or a bad forecast.

See you there. It will be great!
