Be part of the 3S Wind Blast 2011 long distance windsurfing series! The aim of this tour is to gather and unite all national and international windsurfers of all levels. Long distance racing is the menu and every windsurfer competes based on his level and gear he uses. Slaloms, Freerides and Raceboards (RS:X, Techno and Longboards) race as one fleet, but ranked according to the class and age category. The same thing happens with the New @ Windsurfing (over 11 years old) and the Young Blood (under 11 years old) categories. For the second fleet, all windsurfers that can just tack/jibe and sail in a straight line are qualified to race, while the minimum qualifying requirements for the first fleet is that the windsurfers should be able to power jibe and sail long reaches. The more advanced fleet, sails around a long figure of eight or downwind course with reaches sometimes as long as 5 miles and with about 30 minutes race duration. Both fleets, can race a maximum of 3 races in a day, while the beginners fleet races in a small course near the beach.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 riders in each class/category (Slalom, Raceboard, Freeride, Techno, New @ Windsurfing, Young Blood) upon completion of every event and at the final event there will be awarded special trophies for the overall tour winners.
This is the 5rd edition of the 3S Wind Blast tour which grows steadily year after year with a total of over 400 participants in 2010. That draw the international attention of the http://www.worldwindsurfingweek.com/ organization and got the "Most Windsurfers on the Water" (in the whole world of course!) award. Known windsurfer champions, like Andrea Cucci, Antonia Fray, George Fragos and Marco Bengali have been part and winners of the WB.
The tour is organized by the 3S boards & skis magazine (the Windsurfing magazine for Greece and Cyprus) & events, in conjunction with local organizers/clubs.
For every venue, different side events have been organized, such as gear demos and exhibitions, windsurfing clinics for all levels and of course beach party on Saturday night.
Many surprise presents offered by the windsurfing dealers and the official 3SWB11 t-shirts is up for grabs. Pre-registrations (find the form attached) can now be sent at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Should you have any questions or need accommodation info, please do not hesitate to contact us.
