As you can see from the 2011 calendar published on the new look IFCA website 'funboarders' are promised an exciting year of competition!
Established, and new, venues and organisers have come forward to ensure continued growth and development across all the disciplines - slalom, freestyle and wave.
The slalom world championships are backed by continentals confirmed for South America, Oceania and North America, with Asians and Europeans still at the planning stage.
The freestyle discipline will, once again, be well managed in Europe by the EFPT, with an expanded calendar for this year and the EFPKT, for youth and juniors, building on last year's promising start.
For 2011 the wave discipline will be addressed with a view to introducing a Junior and youth Worlds, and expanding the concept across other continents.

New Year's Resolution? We want to further clean up our sport and give more attention to the sail numbers, again . . .
The rule has been there since 2008 and announced in 2006 and from 2011 on we will put discretionary penalties on GP, Continentals and Worlds that we (IFCA) control.
Perhaps not a good new year wish but new year is also about making some good commitments for the coming year.
Perhaps organisers of national events can use some prizes as incentives to convince sailors that is is not so expensive to have a good, eligible, sailnumber.
And remember - A sailnumber is a personal logo!!
