EFPT - Sardinia Freetsyle Grand Prix: big freestyle back in Sardinia!

For the second consecutive year the circuit EFPT - European Freestyle Pro Tour returns to Sardinia, May 30-June 2 2010, the only Italian stop of the tour that brings together the best freestyle windsurfers in the old continent. All the top riders of the league have already confirmed their presence and will have to contend against fierce Italian patrol, led by Italian champion and local rider Stefanino LORIOL.

In 2009 EFPT returned to make a stop in Italy after more than four years of guest spots in Porto Smooth Coluccia, in Santa Teresa Gallura. Although there were the usual conditions of the mistral event was spectacular showing a very high level: it was also the first victory of the Belgian Steven Van Broeckhoven. Coluccia brought luck to the young Belgian athlete, not only was his first victory in the circuit EFPT, but since then has won every contest Tour 2009 - graduating European champion - and first of 2010.

No wonder that the reputation of Coluccia as one of the best spots for freestyle has grown worldwide, Sardinia and the Grand Prix Freestyle starts to become a true classic of international surfing: "We are very proud to have worked to return the great windsurfing in Italy on a permanent basis - says Steddu Pisciottu, president of Harbour Club Smooth, local organizer of the event - in what many consider one of the best spots in the world for the practice of freestyle. Also this year the competition is organized by the Club Porto Smooth and Windsurfing Nation, under the patronage of Santa Teresa di Gallura. For the four days of competition - falling strategically to coincide with the bridge of Republic Day - the program is very rich: in addition to the competition are numerous side events, a free trial of materials in water, live music and evening parties on the beach.
