Croatia has been attributed as the pearl of the Mediterranean by numerous tourists, who are enjoying its natural beauties year after year. With more than 1000 islands Croatia offers a lot of opportunities for active vacation and sport as well.
This year Peljesac peninsula, located near Dubrovnik, will be the host of Martini European Freestyle Pro Tour and Pepsi European Freestyle Pro Kids Tour from 5th to 10th August, among other world famous windsurfing spots.
The Freestyle Championship will be held in auto camp Perna, on a beautiful stone beach facing ancient town of island Korcula. This camp is very popular among windsurfers and kite surfers from all over the world who are returning every summer due to excellent wind conditions and stunning landscape.
Every afternoon there is a thermal wind from the west called maestral, averaging 15-25 knots in strength. In case of lack of wind, windsurfers can use the opportunity to practice yoga, stand up paddle, wake boarding, Tips and Tricks with the Pro's or tow-in surfing.
In the summer of 2014 Perna was the host of Open Croatian Freestyle Championship, also organized by Surf Club Tri Strijele. Since it was the most successful windsurfing championship in Croatia in the last 5 years, it gave the motivation to take the next step and be a part of European Freestyle Pro Tour in 2015.
Thanks to the sponsors of the championship, Pepsi, there will surely be another great event here in august.
