EFE Six Fours set again as ultimate stage of the 2014 European Freestyle Pro Tour
Posted On:  02/10/2014 11:57:24

For the second time in a row, Six Fours les Plages will host the EFPT's last stage of the season. This year the organisation has increased the prize-money from 5,000 eur to 10,000 eur. "Thanks to more private partners and more involvement from the institutional sponsors, the event will attract many top sailors this year, especially because it is the final of the European Freestyle Pro Tour. The challenge is definitely high!" says organiser Fred Bosson. Italian, English, Russian, Dutch and Belgian competitors have already pre-registered and there is even a sailor from Cyprus taking part. "We expect at least five riders of the top 10 world ranking," Fred Bosson announces further.

Amongst them the Belgian Steven Van Broeckhoven, winner of the EFE in 2013, former freestyle World Champion in 2011 and currently ranked second of the World, before the last PWA stage in Sylt, Germany. He already pre-registered for the EFE to defend his title against the other Belgian rider Dieter Van Der Eyken (current top 5) and against the Frenchies Antony Ruenes (top 9 and worlds best French) and Adrien Bosson (top 11), Dutch guys like Davy Scheffers (top 10) and Rick Jendrusch or Italian talent Mattia Fabrizi. The riders list continues to grow day by day.

Once again the action will take place on the hot-spot "Brutal Beach" in Six Fours, from Thursday October 30th to Sunday November 2nd. Registrations will be open until 12.00 pm on the first day. First possible start will be 1.00 pm, depending on weather conditions. Competition is schedulded from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm every day. If the wind fails, the 'tow-in' discipline will take place but in the afternoon only.

With the event growing, also the amount of exhibitors on site is getting bigger with many windsurfing brands displaying their new toys for 2015 at the competition area. Furthermore some Stand Up Paddle boards will be available and entertainment on the beach for the riders and spectators will be guaranteed with live DJ's.
A night program is also organised with a drink at the famous bar 'Le Mafana' (at the harbour of la Coudoulière) on the second night and a 'Happy Hour' with a dinner at Brutal Beach under the tent. More information will be available on the website of the event or via the daily updated Facebook page.
