IFCA JYM Slalom Worlds, Alicati - Congratulations to Akay Poyraz (TUR-1011) and Andrea Rosati (ITA-0) - Youth and Masters Slalom World Champions

Exciting finale to the Liepaja IFCA Slalom Grand Prix
Posted On:  18/08/2013 12:54:05

Three more rounds (eliminations) of slalom action brought to a dramatic closure the IFCA Grand Prix in Liepaja, Latvia.  Liepaja - known as the "city where the wind is born" - never fails to deliver!

This Grand Prix was held alongside the Formula Windsurfing European Championship, and the race committee also found time to run 4 formula races on the last day of the event.

It was a VERY good day for Maciek Rutkowski (POL-23) - his 2 bullets today ensured he moved to top of the overall slalom event ranking. He then put in his best performance of the week in 4 formula races - is there a hidden message here?

Steve Allen (AUS-0) proved the age old adage - "consistency pays"!

Arnon will rue the mistake in race 3 - anything better could have moved him top of the pile.

In summary:
1) Maciek Rutkowski
2) Steve Allen
3) Arnon Dagan

plus:
1) Youth - Joel Gronqvist (FIN-2)
1) Master - Steve Allen (AUS-0)
1) GrandMaster - Ansis Dale (LAT-13)
