Seven is the number separating the leaders from their challengers in both the men's and women's ranking lists just published by IFCA. EC Leucate 2006 drops off and the Mondial Du Vent, Leucate and PWA Korea events are the latest events to be included for 2007 which has made quite a difference to the order right down the board.
French Antoine Albeau (Starboard, Neil Pryde) is at the top with 576 points but he needs to watch his back! USA's Micah Buzianis (JP, Neil Pryde) has rocketed up the men's slalom ranking list to second place, together with fellow countryman Kevin Pritchard (Starboard, Maui Sails) now in third and they are only 7 and 8 points down! Just four points behind them on 564 is Finian Maynard (F2, Neil Pryde) in fourth place.
Brit Ross Williams (Tabou, Gaastra) has 548 points whilst Arnon Dagan (Fanatic, Neil Pryde) from Israel and Jimmy Diaz (F2, North Sails) tie on 547, and Pieter Bijl (Fanatic, Neil Pryde) is close behind on 543.
Swiss Karin Jaggi (FW, North Sails) with 359 points heads the women's slalom ranking list, 7 ahead of Sarah Hebert (Starboard, Naish Sails) who has made her way up to second place. Lena-Aylin Erdil (F2, Neil Pryde) from Turkey has her work cut out to attack from third place with 285 points but has a comfortable 38 point lead over Italian Verena Fauster (F2, Gaastra) and Ozzie Allison Shreeve (F2, Neil Pryde) where battle rages - these two are separated by just one point!
